Synopsis
Christine’s world has been shattered. Brad, her husband and love of her life who was once vibrant and filled with enduring strength, is in the final stages of his life after unexpectedly fighting stage 4 colon cancer. Shell-shocked by the news, she lives each day without truly facing the despair that has steadily crept over her soul. Detached, she refuses to deal with the deep questions of her heart until one fateful day a message in a bottle appears with one question. “Does losing love mean that love is lost?” This question floods her mind with emotions and memories lost in the fray of the fight. She decides to take this tough question head on while visiting with Brad in hospice. “Does love survive death? I mean, when you are gone, will our love remain?”
This short film dives into the central focus of the grieving process that a spouse or caregiver faces when fighting cancer. Often contrary to belief, the process does not start at death but at diagnosis. And Christine faces the darkness of that process for the first time in her journey. It is in this moment she experiences A Bit of Forever.
